Medical University of Lodz

The Medical University of Lodz was inaugurated on October 1, 2002 as a merger of two Medical Schools: the Medical Academy of Lodz and the Military Medical Academy of Lodz by the Act of the Polish Parliament.

At present The Medical University of Lodz is the largest public medical school in Poland and offers students high standard of education in constantly modernized teaching environment - comfortable classrooms and lecture halls completed with computer-compatible projectors and PA systems. It's worth to emphasize that our Dentistry Teaching Center , equipped with new- generation phantom units is placing us among the best dental education centers in Europe.

University Mission:

Educating students in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and medicine-allied disciplines; Educating research staff and conducting research work; Conducting postgraduate training of highly qualified health care system staff; Participating in health care programs set by the social health care system.

University Teaching Hospitals and University- affiliated departments besides of their main goal which is to provide the highest standard of clinical education, constitute a basic source for highly specialized diagnostic and treatment services provided by more than 1200 medical professionals including 750 specialist ( professors and associate professors) who deal with the health needs of the Lodz region and promote health-related programs. Each year more than 55 000 patients are hospitalized in MUL hospital departments and over 50 000 patients in University affiliated wards.
