Who are you? Briefly describe yourself (where do you come from, what do you study, etc.)
My name is Åsa and I come from Västerås, Sweden. I'm studying at the most beautiful university I have ever seen - the Jagiellonian University in Cracow.
What has surprised you in Poland?
Polish swear alot, comparing to Swedish, but they are very kind at the same time. It was weird for me.
How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?
My friends back in Sweden were talking to me about this country and one day I came up with this idea. I also was here before, but it was only on airport in Gdańsk.
Do you remember the first days of studying in Poland? Describe the struggles you went through:
It was very stressful time I was afraid of the contact with people, because I didn't understand anything in Polish. I mean I was afraid of buying in shops, because cashier could say something to me etc.
Tell us about the differences between studies in Poland and studies in Sweden:
There are many. In Sweden if you belong to any student organisation you have to pay for it. Also, swedish studies look more like courses and there are many different types of exams at the end.
What do you like about studying in Poland?
People, and the atmosphere in general.
Do you know any famous people from Poland?
Not many, but I know Roman Polanski and because I like history I know Sigismund III and Chodkiewicz
Describe the places in Poland, that have a positive influence on you:
I love Cracow, it's nightlife and monuments. I have also been to Zakopane, which is in mountains, I liked it. Tell us about the country you've always wanted to visit, but still haven't: I'd like to visit France, take a stroll on Paris street, eat a baguette and drink a sip of wine.
Are you a member of any student's club or organization? Tell us something about it:
No, I'm not
Have you made any permament relations with polish students? What do you like most in them?
I've made some friends here. I like they are open and very warm. But sometimes they party too much and too hard.
Would you like to come back to Poland in the future? Why?
Yes, I'd love to, but I prefer to visit some other cities.
