Student from Turkey about studies in Gdansk
Who are you? Briefly describe yourself (where do you come from, what do you study, etc.)
I'm Salih. I come from Turkey. I study in Gdańsk University. I am in bachelor degree and I study business administration.
What has surprised you in Poland?
Actually, there is nothing special to surprise for me. Because my friends who came before to Poland told me most of the things.
How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?
I am in my last year in my university in Turkey. I always wanted to see Europe. I had a lot of friends came to Poland before. They suggested me.
Do you remember the first days of studying in Poland? Describe the struggles you went through?
It was a bit hard for me to get used to it because it was a different country, a different culture. Everything was different and communicating with people was really hard. But day by day. I saw that Polish people are helpful and understanding.
Tell us about the differences between studies in Poland and studies in Turkey?
The education is different from Turkey. It is not only theoritical but also practical. And this is good because you learn a lot of things by yourself and don't forget easily.
What do you like about studying in Poland?
As I mentioned above. I have a lot of friends came to Poland to study. They told me their experiences and studies here and I wanted to come.
Do you know any famous people from Poland?
I don't know so much people, but just a few people like Roman Polanski, Frederic Chopin.
Describe the places in Poland, that have a positive influence on you:
Gdansk Old Town, and old buildings in the cities.
Tell us about the country you've always wanted to visit, but still haven't:
I always want to go to Japan but I couldn't. I will visit someday.
