Serbian student decides to study in Wroclaw

Who are you? Briefly describe yourself (where do you come from, what do you study, etc.)

My name is Sofija V. I live and study in Novi Sad, city in Serbia. I am student of Ecology. I am on my last year of Bachelor studies now.

What's your family, friends opinion about your studies in Poland?

They were not surprised or worried because they all know how much I like Poland and how many friends I already have there. So they have all been very supportive and promised they will come for a visit. I am going to study for one semester on University of Environmental and Life Sciences in Wroclaw.

Tell us about inspiration about studies in Poland.

It was kind of one thing led to another situation. Last year close friend of mine introduced me to some Polish students that came to Novi Sad on exchange, we became good friends and this summer I got an opportunity to go on some sort of eurotrip and decided right away that one of the destinations will be Poland and Wroclaw. I liked the people and the city very much and I thought how great it would be if I had an opporutunity to study there for couple of months. So I applied to go on exchange and I am comming in couple of weeks :)

Enumerate the three places you would like to visit in Poland.

Warszaw, Auschwitz, Lodz

What determinant related to everyday life can convince you to choose Poland from among other countries?

Prices are affordable.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In the last couple of days I started making some origami, flowers, stars and stuff, but usually I just go out, have a beer or two with friends, or stay at home chill out with music, good book, my cute little bunny next to me. I also enjoy doing yoga if I have time in the morning, or before going to sleep. Also like to cook and try out some new vegeterian recipes.

Do you know any famous people from Poland?

Not actually.

Would you take any memento or any item, that would remind you of your homeland while studying in Poland? What would it be?

I am sure I will take some rakija with me, but I guess that will be a reminder just for couple of days... :) I don't think I will miss my country so much, maybe just some people, but ofc we will stay in touch.

Tell us about the country you've always wanted to visit, but still haven't:

For a long time my dream destination has been India. Why? Well, the smell of spices, bright colours all around, beautiful nature, totally different life perspective. I would love to have an opportunity to expirience it.

Are you a member of any student's club or organization ? Tell us something about it:

I am a member of Buddy Netowork, organisation that helps incoming students to deal with everyday problems that they are facing with when comming to an unknown country. Since this year I am also a member of ESN - Section in Novi Sad and activist at IAESTE - The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical. Experience. I have to say that I met some truly amazing people from all over Europe thanks to this organisations.
