Who are you? Briefly describe yourself (where do you come from, what do you study, etc.)
My name is İlder O. I'm 22. I'm from Turkey. My major is Business Administration. I am at final class. I joined another student exchange program before, in my country. Erasmus program is my first abroad experience. Now I study in the Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów -Wyższa Szkoła Gospodarki Euroregionalnejim. Alcide De Gasperi w Józefowie.
What has surprised you in Poland?
Before I came here, I researched about Poland. I have some information. But I have surprised about Polish charity. Some people have tried to help, even they can't speak English. And I have really impressed of this. Also Polish people have good traditions. They have cuisine and they live in a small way.
How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?
Before, I met some Polish Erasmus students in Turkey. They were very friendly and outgoing. Also I heard that Polish likes Turkish students. I realized that Polish people are open to new people. My Erasmus University teaches in English Language. This is one of the main reasons.
Do you remember the first days of studying in Poland? Describe the struggles you went through:
I never felt like foreign in Poland. I have come to private school here and I am good at these lectures. We Erasmus Students have studied in international class. Maybe one thing can be struggle that many people can't speak English, in our class.
Tell us about the differences between studies in Poland and studies in Turkey:
Firstly, we are old and big country and we have many universities and some established before centuries, also Poland has. I think system of education is similar to Turkey and Poland have tried to integrate to global approaches.
What do you like about studying in Poland?
I think Poland is not expensive, and it's good for students. Also Polish students like to talk with foreign students. Here is former Eastern Block member and new EU country. The Polish youth want to be more open-minded people, and it's interesting.
Do you know any famous people from Poland?
I know some famous people from Poland. Like Chopin, Marie Curie and Copernicus. Also Kieslowski is one of my favorite directors.
Describe the places in Poland, that have a positive influence on you:
I have been in Warsaw for 2 weeks. I feel better in where is so familiar. Like Polish restaurants which include Polish things, influenced to me.
Tell us about the country you've always wanted to visit, but still haven't:
In my country, we have various geographical places and their traditions. I am from the West - Aegean Part -, and I always wanted to travel in amazing ancient South-east cities, such as Şanlıurfa and Mardin.
Are you a member of any student's club or organization? Tell us something about it:
We are small university here and we haven't any club but I tried to join some organizations of other universities.
Would you like to come back to Poland in the future? Why?
Poland is open to new-found things, more than many countries. I will work in business sector and Poland will be privileged for this.
If you run your own business or work anywhere, please tell us something about it (what is it, how many hours weekly do you work, etc.)
I never work in before, serious way. But I study in Business and I want to run my own business and it will be probably in sector of communication.
