Marija from Latvia Estonia her time in Warsaw
Who are you? Briefly describe yourself (where do you come from, what do you study, etc.)
My name is Marija, I am on Erasmus exchange at the Collegium Civitas. I am from Latvia but I study in Estonia, at the Tallinn University of Technology International Relations.
What has surprised you in Poland?
People in Poland are very kind and helpful. One thing confused me how here are counted floors from 0 and up. A bit strange also was that each university make their own students ID instead of ISIC.
How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?
I liked courses offered at the Collegium Civitas. Also I have relatives here, I thought whenever I feel homesick I could visit them.
Do you remember the first days of studying in Poland? Describe the struggles you went through:
I don't remember any big problems, my flat mate met me when I arrived and helped me with everything at the beginning.
Tell us about the differences between studies in Poland and studies in Estonia:
I don't really know how it is in Latvia, but in Estonia everything is electrolyzed. Practically all study materials are online on certain website. Professors use more presentations to explain study material and later put these presentations online. And I think I had to study more in my home university
What do you like about studying in Poland?
I can take very interesting courses here which I do not have in my home university. Also I have a great opportunity to learn Polish culture and visit other Poland cities, meet new people from different countries and learn something from them as well.
Do you know any famous people from Poland?
Writer Janusz Leon Wiśniewski
