Juan Antonio from Spain about his studies in Poland
Who are you? Briefly describe yourself (where do you come from, what do you study, etc.)
My name is Juan Antonio, I'm 20 years old, I came from Sevilla (Andalusia, Spain) and I'm currently studying a joint degree in Law and Business at Pablo de Olavide University. Since September I'm an Erasmus student at Gdansk University of Technology.
What has surprised you in Poland?
The most impressive thing was the people. Most Spanish people has the stereotype that Polish people are quite close-minded but when I arrived here I realised that Polish people are quite similar to south Spanish people, they are always trying to do the best for you. I feel here like in home but 3600km away.
How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?
I wanted something totally different from Spain and I found it in Poland. Weather, architecture, cheap country...
Do you remember the first days of studying in Poland? Describe the struggles you went through:
My first days here were quite strange, but my mentor help me a lot. We had to do a lot of paperwork, also I remember I started to understand what Zubrowka is.
Tell us about the differences between studies in Poland and studies in Spain:
I find here that is more practical what is good. In Spain there are more lectures and less laboratories. Also here attendance is more controlled than in Spain. Here my whole studies are in English and I improved a lot my language skills.
Do you know any famous people from Poland?
Nicolaus Copernicus, Lech Walesa, Popieluszko, Maria Curie, Chopin...

Of course Gdansk, I love the recent history about Gdansk and Shipyards.
Tell us about the country you've always wanted to visit, but still haven't:
Generally speaking, South America.
Have you made any permanent relations with polish students? What do you like in the most of them?
As I told you before, I met a lot of Polish student. They are always trying to do the best for you.
Would you like to come back to Poland in the future? Why?
