Interview with international student from Greece
Anastasia V., came to Poland from Athens (Greece). She tells us about her time in Poland.
What has surprised you in Poland?
I was impressed by your architecture, different than in Greece. There are more colours. Also the nature in Poland surprised me, when I came here everything was green.
How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?
Friend of mine who had been here last year recommended me Poland. I also wanted to have an experience of cold in winter. Everything here is cheaper than in Greece and what's most important the University is located near to the sea.
Do you remember the first days of studying in Poland? Describe the struggles you went through.
First day we had a meeting at the University, they explained to us how to apply on courses. For me everything had been told too fast and they gave not enough information about courses.
Tell us about the differences between studies in Poland and studies in Greece?
In Poland studying is more difficult than in Greece. The main difference is that we work more during class, we do more projects. In Poland there are smaller groups because less students attend classes.
What do you like about studying in Poland?
What I like the most is to make new friends and travel around Poland, get to know more about Poland too. Many people in Poland know English so it's very comfortable for foreign students.
Do you know any famous people from Poland?
I don't know anybody, sorry. :(
Describe the places in Poland, that have a positive influence on you.
I found interesting cliffs and jetty in Sopot. I am an orthodox person so I enjoy visiting churches in 3city. I also like Gdańsk and amber exhibition which I can find there. I have visited Malbork and Hel, those places have a very positive influence on me.
Tell us about the country you've always wanted to visit, but still haven't.
I am going to visit Praha in Czech Republic. I am planning to do it next year. This city interest me very much.
Are you a member of any student's club or organization? Tell us something about it.
I heard about one or two, but I am not a member of any. None proposed me to join it.
Would you like to come back to Poland in the future? Why?
I like Poland so I will come back here for sure. Because I want to visit my friends again.
Have you made any permanent relations with Polish students? What you like the most in them?
I have got some Polish friends from the University, from psychology faculty and some Spanish friends. In Polish students I like the most that they are friendly.
