Federico from Italy about Gdansk
Who are you? Short bios. (where do you come from, where do you study? In which faculty, bachelor degree or master degree?)
Hello! I am Federico. I am 24 years old. I'm from Italy. I'm in master degree and I was erasmus student at the University of Gdansk, Department of Management.
What has surprised you in Poland?
The main thing that surprised me was the culture and the behaviour of polish people, they are so "open mind" and a lot of them are very nice and benevolent people. But also lot of other things, like the architecture, the monuments, the nature and of course the cold weather (I was not used to, and I'm still not used).
How did you come up with the idea of studying in Poland?
Because I wanted to try an experience abroad and learn english and I knew that here almost all the young people know english and the courses were in english.
Do remember the early days of studying in Poland? Describe the struggles you went through.
Yes I do, it was very strange. I felt like I was a tourist even if i wasn't really. The first "struggle" was to find the accomodation but I had my tutor and some polish friend who helped me.
What's the difference between studies in Poland and studies in Italy?
Here in Poland a lot of teachers are very young and it's better than Italy in fact we have almost all old teachers. The other difference is about the studies, maybe because I was erasmus, but in Italy I have to study more than here and at the end of the course I have to do before one written test and after an oral test.
Why did you choose Poland as a place for studying?
Honestly I had not so many choices and decided Poland with some doubt because I didn't know a lot about this country, but now I think it was the best choice ever!
Do you know any famous people from Poland?
I know Pope Wojtyla, Copernicus, Chopin and sports people like Kubica and Lewandosky.
Which places in Poland have a positive influence on you?
Sopot for sure, it's like wonderland! And now is like if I have left my second "family" there.
Number 1 country you have always wanted to visit but still haven't?
It's USA, in particular the city of New York.
